I picked up a pamphlet a couple of days ago for: "Southwest Louisiana National Wildlife Refuge Complex Fishing regulations....Cameron Prairie, Lacassine and Sabine" Dated: March 2008
Summary....
Cast net must be less than 8.5 foot radius.
No mention of needing a Permit to castnet.
Shrimp limit....5 gallons during season. 1 gallon out of season for bait.
Hours.....all activities start at Sunrise and close at Sunset. You can enter the area 1 hour before sunrise and stay until 1 hour after sunset. I guess this is for the hunter in areas that are open to hunting.
This pamphlet does not cover Hunting regulations........So if a Duck flys over just after it gets light, can you legally shoot it? I am not a Duck hunter. What about a Deer hunter on Cameron Prairie property, can he shoot a Deer that comes by just after it gets light?
I passed by Camerion Prairie Headquarters last week, but did not think about stopping to talk about these regulations.....sure wish I had to find out some answers to our questions.
