Big Gator!

Here is a gator killed by Benjamin Richard last Sunday. They measured him right before they started skinning and he was 13 feet 2 inches. He was killed off of a bayou between Moss Bluff and Lake Charles.

I was fishing in that area a few days back........and the guy I was with was telling me about this gator.

While we were out, there was a man & women running gator lines. Saw them check a couple of lines and rebait them with nothing on them.

We did hear one shot from a 22 cal, so they must have gotten one there.

My neighbor goes on the river fairly often. This spring he saw a really big one just upstream of the Hwy 171 bridge. He loaded up his Lab and left before the gator got too close. He said that there was a trail about 2 foot wide going back into the marsh near where he was.
