ENTRY FEE: BigLake411.com’s “Get the net!” fishing tournament is open to the general public. There are 3 separate divisions:
Youth Division (age 17 & under) - $30 entry fee per angler
Ladies Only Division - $40 entry fee per angler
The Good Ole’ Boys Division - $40 entry fee per angler
BRACKETS: Each division has 2 separate brackets. They are as follows:
Heaviest Speckled Trout (Spotted Seatrout) Stringer (max 3 fish limit)
Heaviest Redfish (Red Drum) Stringer (max 3 fish limit)
Anglers are allowed to weigh in up to 3 fish in each bracket of their division. There is no penalty for only weighing in one or two fish stringers.
There is also a “Big Speck” winner take all jackpot for the heaviest speckled trout (Spotted Seatrout) of the day over all. For every entry fee collected, $5 will go towards this jackpot. This means that the more people that fish the tournament, the bigger the grand prize will be.
To sweeten the deal even more, in addition to this cash prize, the lucky winning angler will also receive a custom built Viper 7' medium action graphite casting rod fitted with titanium guides valued @ $300 donated by . The rod blank used to build this rod was made here in the USA. This rod was custom built by Billy himself specifically for this tournament & will be on display along with 3 more custom rods @ the weigh-in.
WEIGH-IN / WEIGH MASTER: Coastal Bend Weigh Team out of Hitchcock ,Tx will be handling the weigh-in services for the tournament. They have been working weigh stations for over 10 yrs. All scales are certified & weigh in lbs and ounces. Certified backup scales will be on location if needed & a certified SS 20# weight to verify accuracy of the scales will also be available if needed. Coastal Bend Weigh Team uses ONLY a CHECK-IT stick for measuring the length of fish. The weigh master will be the only person that touches the fish and makes the calls. If a discrepancy arises, directors will be notified and WE alone will make the final judgment. Upon arriving @ the weigh station anglers should hand in their weigh ticket, then the weigh master will inspect the fish for freshness, mutilation, stuffed bellies, and its size/slot limit etc. The fish will then be weighed and measured. The angler will need to sign the weigh masters log book to verify the weight & length of his or her fish. Coastal Bend Weigh Team will keep the tournament leader board updated as anglers weigh-in their fish throughout the event.
SCORING: Scoring will be based on the weight of the fish in pounds. Fish presented for weighing must meet the following criteria:
(minimum & maximum length will be determined by the standard “total length” measuring of saltwater and freshwater fish. See picture below)

Speckled Trout (Spotted Seatrout) – Minimum length of 14 inches
Redfish (Red Drum) – Minimum length of 16 inches, Maximum length of 27 inches
PRIZES: Anglers must be present to win cash prizes, no exceptions. If a winning angler is not present @ the awards ceremony, the cash prize will be awarded to the next angler on the leader board. There will also be a drawing for several door prizes donated by tournament sponsors. Anglers must turn in their weigh-in ticket stubs to be entered into the drawing for door prizes. Anglers must be present @ the drawing to win door prizes as well.
Each bracket will have a cash payout for 1st & 2nd place regardless of the number of entries. The cash payout for 1st & 2nd place in each division will be determined by the number of anglers entered into the tournament.
