7:00 p.m..................Fishing Awards Presentation
8:00 p.m...................Music by Waters Edge
11:30 p.m...Cameron Fishing Fest Concludes

The Cameron Fishing Festival is sponsored by the Cameron Lions Club. The festival was started as a way to both showcase the wonderful natural resources that Cameron Parish has to offer, plus raise funds for our clubs numerous community projects and programs. The festival is held the first full weekend of every August and will take place at the Cameron Jetty Pavilion. Great food, music, games, childrens activites, queens pageants and crafts booths ensure families will have continuous enjoyment during the two day event. Along with the festival, there is a Saltwater Fishing Tournament with over $5000 in cash and prizes awarded.

If I am home I will probably fish in the tournament. I emailed them to get more info on the tournament. I will post it as soon I get something back from them.

A revised schedule has been announced for the 7th Annual Cameron Fishing Festival to be held Aug. 6 & 7
at the Cameron Jetty Pier Pavilion in Cameron. The festival will be held even if the fishing has to be shut down
by the oil spill. There will be three fishing divisions--offshore, bay and surf, in adult and junior divisions
(15 years and younger). The special Redfish Challenge will be the weighin of two redfish between 20
and 27 inches daily.
FRIDAY, AUG. 6 12:01 a.m. - Fishing begins.
12 noon - Festival gates open, Weigh station opens,Food booths open.
5 p.m. - Weigh station closes.
5:30 p.m. - Blessing of the fleet.
6 p.m. - Music by Bayou Roots.
8:30 p.m. - Fireworks display over the jetties.
9 p.m. - Music by Jamie Bergeron and Kickin Cajun Band.
12 a.m. - Festival gates close.

SATURDAY, AUG. 7
9 a.m. - Festival gates open.
11 a.m. - Weigh station opens.
11:30 a.m. - Festival beauty pageant begins.
2 p.m. - Music by Jerry Furs and The Teardrops.
4 p.m. - Music by Kevin Naquin and The OssumPlayboys.
5 p.m. - Weigh station closes.
5 p.m. - Raffle drawing for “Brooks & Dunn” Jacket and Memorabilia.
7:30 p.m. - Presentation of fishing prizes and pageant contest winners.
8:30 p.m. - Music byWaters Edge.
11:30 p.m. - CameronFishing Festival concludes.

The Cameron Fishing Festival will be having a Captain’s Night at the Cameron Jetty Pier Pavilion
in Cameron on Thursday, July 29 at 6:30 p.m. Fishing Tickets for the 7th Annual Fishing Festival can
be purchased at the reduced price of $25 for Offshore and Bay & Surf Divisions. Tickets for the Annual Cameron
Redfish Challenge can also be purchased at this time for a discounted price of $90.
