I got a call from a friend of mine concerning a net that he bought. I checked it out online & decided to get one. Impulse purchase! LOL

Saw something kinda like that at Cabela's on my way home.
Cabela's is half way home from work.
I make a pit stop there to eat and walk around before heading home.
Never leave there without dropping a 100 dollar bill in there.

I have tried several hook resistant nets and all have been very expensive but more importantly they won't scoop , ie they are so heavy you can't net quickly and efficiently when you are on a frantic bite....they won't move thru the water...

The rubber nets are pretty hook resistant, but I don't like them cause they are heavy.
I light the lighter nets. The lighter the better.
Most of the time, dip the fish, then get it out as soon as possible. Specially if it is on topwater or a jerk bait.

The problem [IMO] with some of the telescoping handles that I have used are that they are to short.

I read the information about this net and ....... they did not say what was the length of the handle.

I have used that high dollar net a couple of times fishing with smoke and the handle is long enough to where we never had to use the telescoping option.

Got a new net

Postby Bgizzle » Fri Jul 27, 2012 10:16 pm

Anything that deflects top waters I'm interested. I was fishing with Jared the other day he netted a solid fish I was trying to untangle trebles for 5min of quality top water smashing time. Anyone who fishes top water knows how valuable that time is. I did t want to ruin his net though. I like the rubber ones but never found a deep one only the shallow crabbing ones
May not be the best, but I'm the best at trying my best

The only place I have seen the deep ones is at the Bass Pro Shop and they have some weight to them, but they or deep. The net I have came from there and the strains or stiff almost like rubber but half the weight. Another I found works is when someone nets the person with the rod keep tension on the rod until you get the fish out it does allow the lure and fish to lay in the net and get tangled.
