I saw it in person. I will see if I can find their site.
They called the rubber thingy an Arbor or fast line crosswrap on their site.
It's the red rubber thing you see in the drawing:

i use a spinning reel less bird nest and cussin out on the lake i know there are kids around from time to time !!!

Im a big fan of Shimano Curados for baitcasters, for the money they are very smooth and cast well. I usually get on a boat with 3 baitcasters and 3 spinning reels just depends what kind of water im fishing on which I choose.

I use shimano calcutta / curado bait casters.
