Permit for marina applied for

Samuel R. Breaux of Sulphur has applied for a coastal use permit to construct the Southwest Marina on Joe’s Cove. The marina will have 145 boat slips with lifts and storage facilities. There also will be a boat launch, fuel and bait shop. Also proposed are eight residential lots.

Where is Joe's Cove? I heard about a marina on the NE side of the lake and couldn't find one. Is Spicer's the only full-service marina?

Joe's Cove is just South of Hackberry. Look for Dugas Landing on a map.
There was rocks put along the channel that closed off the cove. But there are a couple cuts in the rocks to get thru. One at Dugas
and one at the South end of the cove.
There are not really many marina's on Big Lake.
Calcasieu Point is on the LNG Canal, right at Devils Elbow. They are the only place to launch from the NE. They are not actually on
the lake.
