Ethanol and Boat Motors

I'm glad you mentioned the fact that no product on the market will solve phase separation: none! And, before you put any additive in your fuel tank please be sure it itself does not contain ethanol. Adding additional ethanol will only increase the overall ethanol content. Use only additives specifically for ethanol fuel. The old red Sta-Bil, for example, contains ethanol so if you want to use this product, use only the marine type Sta-Bil.

Most pumps in Lake Charles say the gas "May contain up to 10% ethanol".
When I asked the guys at the stations, they said they do not know.
It's very hard to find one that doesn't have a sticker.

Newer motors are less prone to issues with E-10. Older motors and tanks can be troublesome with E-10.

If you use your boat a lot and keep the tank full, you will have less problems.

I have followed this issue a lot cause I have a 30 year old boat with twin V-8's.
I am just waiting on the day she goes to crap cause of this stuff.
The gov't is pondering going to E-15.
This will kill a lot of old cars and trucks also.
Anything over E-10 will cause a lot of issues, except in the flex fuel vehicles.

Cormies has good gas. No E-10 over there.

If you go into a store & ask the cashier if they have ethanol in their gas, most of them have no clue. Looking for a stick on the pump is really the only way to tell. Even then, there is no guarantee. If they don't have a sticker on the pump & are selling E10, they can get fined though.

Is this true for all Walmarts in Lake Charles? .......most stations have gone to E-10 in the last few months.
