The power pole vs the talon. This debate really comes down to personal preference. I had a power pole (8' pro model) on my 22' bay boat & loved it. I looked at the talon & even though it was a little cheaper, I ended up getting the power pole. I didn't like the fact that the talon doesn't lay down when deployed. I fish 3 or 4 guys out of my boat pretty often & there is usually someone fishing on the back deck. I figured a talon would get in the way when they were casting back there. The talon is powered by an electric motor, the power pole is hydraulic. I'm a sucker for hydraulics. When you run your boat in some skinny water & get junk hung up in the prop or the water intake on your motor, you can deploy your power pole & step out onto it in order to clear the debris. I tend to do this pretty often. LOL

Like i said, it's really a personal preference. Both are great products & they serve the same purpose. I'm sticking with power pole but you really can't go wrong either way.

They both have similar anchoring rods, lifetime warranty...
Power Pole has been out longer, so tested longer and kinks figured out.
I saw the new ones at West Marine last month. They look real nice.
I wanted to try the Talon cause I didn't like how far the Power Pole stuck out
behind the boat. That was the only issue I saw with the Power Pole.
I like the Talon cause if it gets stuck down, you can use a 7/16 wrench and
get it back in.
Both have plus's and minus's, but I don't think either one is bad. Both are
big companies, so both should have good customer support.
