Would like to know where to fish Big Lake in a kayak. Have never fished there and what is the best baits other than live.Thanks

For west, lots of yakers go to west cove marsh and the cove itself and the choupique bayou launch. 210, Freds and hebert's on the east side. topwaters and plastics w/ and w/o cork.

If u Fish In a kayak u are required to at least have one 360 all round light please use one it's only a matter of time b4 some1 gets killed I've seen several in the cove this year w no light around entrance to west cove from hwy 27 w no lights not a lot of boaters are paying attention coming out those cuts so protect urself u can buy a cheap one that clamps on powered by d batteries for 15$ it may save some1 life.

I almost ran over a yaker about 1/4 mile out from Heberts last summer, he had no lights on.
If it wasn't for the lights in the background, I may have hit him.

I saw in the post that you were talking about 210, freds and heberts as good places to fish in a kayak. I saw where Heberts is but where is 210 and Freds.

There is a kayak launch under the Interstate 210 bridge in Lake Charles. Lots of Kayakers out there every evening.

Fred's is just South of the Black Bayou bridge, on the road to Hebert's. It is a honky tonk right on the side of the road.
